Looking back on the eight years of English study, I find that I have developed a great interest in it. Like other English learners, during the process I have come across difficulties as well as small success. And the following are my unforgettable experiences of English study. Would you like to share them with me? 回顾我学习英语的8年里，我发现我已经对它有了极大的兴趣。像其他英语学习者一样，我遇到过困难，也有小收获。下面就是我难忘的英语学习经历，你愿意和我一起分享它们吗？
To tell you the truth, I consult a dictionary whenever I meet with a new word, which has made a great influence on me. Not only can I use the new word in a proper way, but also I can expand my vocabulary. Therefore, I will keep this good habit as long as I learn English.告诉你实话吧，每当我遇见生词时，我总会查看字典，这对我产生了很大的影响。这不仅让我能正确运用单词，还能扩充我的词汇量。因此，只要我学习英语，我将继续保持这个好习惯。
However, whenever it comes to English grammars, I will feel upset and unsure, because I once thought it unnecessary to learn grammars and made slight of it. But it has proved that I was completely wrong. 然而，每当提到语法的时候，我总会感到不安和不确信。因为我曾经认为学习语法不重要，就忽视它了。但是现在证明我完全错了。
As is known to everyone, English is made up of spoken English and written English. And we should treat them equally. I enjoy reading English aloud and actually reading has become a daily routine. There is a long way to go before I can talk with foreigners fluently，so I must practice it more and more. 正如大家所知道的那样，英语是由口语和书面语组成的。我们必须平等地对待他们。我喜欢大声朗读课文，读书实际上成了我每天必做的事情了。在我能和外国人流利交谈前还有很长一段路，因此我必须越来越多地练习口语。
When I achieve success, I will say to myself, “Don’t be satisfied with yourself so easily. Troubles are still ahead of you.” And when I meet with a trouble, I will continue going ahead instead of just feeling blue. Now that I have been determined to live my dream, I will never say give up. And I hold a positive attitude towards my life. 当我获得成功时候，我总会对自己说：“别那么轻易地对自己感到满意，许多困难还在你的前面。”当我遇到困难时，我并不沮丧，而是继续向前进。既然我已经决定去实现我的梦想，我就永远不会说放弃。面对生活，我很乐观。

Find Correct Ways to Learn English
My teacher, Miss Lv, often says to us “Nowadays English is used all over the world, so learning English well is important for us”. But it’s difficult for me to master English, such as how to remember so many new words.
For example, there was a dictation this morning, so last night I spent much time memorizing them, but I still couldn’t spell them correctly. It was time to dictate. Miss Lv said English words and we wrote them down as usual. Suddenly I found I was not able to spell many words, and I was very sad. In the end I got a “D”.
Although I am very sad, I know it’s time to change the way to learn English. I plan to practice reading English aloud every morning, do more exercise and chat with my friends in English. In addition, I also memorize words according to their pronunciation. After several weeks, I find I can remember new words easily.
Therefore, if we find correct ways to learn English, we will overcome many difficulties and I believe I will make great progress in English in the future. （宝应实验初中10级4班 王 聪）
My Crazy Experience
I have been learning English for 6 years. During the past six years, I have experienced so many impressive things. They are all my treasure, but the most special is The Li Yang Crazy English Winter Camp.
Last winter holiday, I went to that camp. At the very beginning, I was a bit worried about the coming days. I thought that maybe I would not enjoy these days. However, it was soon proved that my idea was completely wrong, I gradually liked everything there…
I still remember clearly, every morning, we went to the playground to practice speaking English. We all held our books over our heads and spoke English as loudly as we could. And during the break of the classes we did the same. During the whole days, we went crazy in every class. Though we didn’t have much free time, we felt very happy.
I still remember clearly, the kind teachers took care of us carefully every day. They helped us
solve all the problems. They guided us in reading English loudly. Every evening, they didn’t go to bed until all of us fell asleep. When it was snowy, the teachers took many large umbrellas to protect us from the coldness.
I still remember clearly, the friendly classmates helped each other unselfishly. My dear classmates in AS1 are really nice. They are among the most friendly people that I have ever met. We laughed together, cried together, tried together…We experienced all the joy and pain. Though there were only 9 days, we got along very well with one another, as if we were brothers and sisters.
During the closing ceremony of the winter camp, we cuddled and cried. Thinking of the farewell ,we could not help being sad.
Here, I just want to say, my eternal friends, my eternal teachers and my eternal AS1, I will remember you forever and I will love you forever! （宝应实验初中09级12班 刘 影）
My English Study
As we all know, English is very important. Sometime can't do well in it because they don't have correct ways. Here're some of my ideas to learn English well.
First，listen carefully in English class．With teachers’ help，your English will be improved a lot. Someone often takes notes in class instead of listening to the teacher，but it’s wrong. You should take an active part in class and try to remember most of the vocabularies and sentences．
Moreover，it’s also important to do practice to improve English after class．You need not only exercise，but listen or read as well．Taking some exercises can help you learn more words and be better at English．After taking some exercises，you’ll find it easy to learn English．I have some English books，such as ‘Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland’, ‘The Little Prince’．I like seeing some films in English，such as ‘Harry Potter’ and so on．They help me with my listening , speaking , reading and writing．
In a word，English is a useful language. If we have interests in English, we can learn it very well． （宝应实验初中09级3班 成浅之）
Give Advice on Learning English
Some students think that learning English is very difficult for them, but it’s quite easy for me to learn it, because I know why I learn English. If we make friends with English, we’ll learn it easier. I always make learning English an interesting thing so I always feel relaxed when I learn it. I often listen to some classic English songs and I speak English whenever and wherever I can to improve my English. And I’m always excited when I take English lessons. I’m crazy about it. I want to learn English well so that I can know something about foreign countries. After classes, I like writing English compositions, it’s quite enjoyable. When I get home, I talk with my brother in English and we often teach our parents how to speak English.
I believe that you can learn English well if you learn it in correct ways. I hope my advice can be of great value to you. （宝应中学10级21班 金 莎）
How to Learn English Well
As we all know, English is an international general language. So it is very important for us to learn English well.
However, many students think that it is difficult to learn English well as they have to remember so many words and learn grammar. In fact, if you have useful ways to study, you will like it.
There is no secret to success, so you have to learn it step by step. The more you accumulate, the more you will achieve. If you meet troubles, you can refer to the dictionary. The dictionary is the best teacher. Notebook is also important. You must focus on the classes, and write down the knowledge that the teachers add to. Besides, you should sum up the knowledge after class. This is important, don’t forget it.
Consider every problem as an opportunity for growth. When you meet with the problems, you should ask the teachers for help. You can acquire a knowledge of English by careful study.
As far as I am concerned, diligence is the greatest of teachers. Do remember that failure is the mother of success. （宝应中学09级19班 房 娟）

春节the Spring Festival
春节（the Spring Festival）是我们中国人最重要的节日。在这一天，所有的家庭成员都聚在(all family members get together)一起，就像西方的圣诞节一样。过年（have the Spring Festival）有很多风俗（customs）。过年的前几天，家家都在办年货（special purchases for the Spring Festival），贴春联（Spring Festival couplets），挂灯笼（lantern），处处都是过年的气氛（atmosphere）。除夕晚上大家聚在一起吃团圆饭（family reunion dinner）。孩子们可以燃放爆竹（firecrackers）。大年初一（the beginning of New Year）亲朋好友相互拜年（pay New Year's call; give New Year's greetings; New Year's visit），小孩子们最开心了，可以拿到压岁钱（gift money; money given to children as a lunar New Year gift）。

1、就餐（having meals）
就餐分选食（do the choosing）、劝食（help one to some food）、品食（taste food）三类。选食最常用的是would like sth. / to do sth. 或Can I help you?等。欧美人用餐的礼仪有很多与我们不同。比如，在欧美，很多人信仰基督教，他们习惯在用餐前先祷告，客人应看着男女主人，如果他们低下头祷告，你也应该参与他们的祷告；如有女性在场，入座前要替她把椅子拉出来，请她先就座，坐下之后，等女主人先打开餐巾，其他人才能打开餐巾并把它放在膝部上，中途要离开时，餐巾要放在自己的椅子上；欧美人习惯右手拿刀，左手拿叉，美国人则先用刀把肉片切好，然后右手拿叉进食，不可用刀取食；嘴里有食物时不要讲话，喝汤时要静静地喝，不可喝出声，喝咖啡时不可用汤匙喝（汤匙只起到搅拌咖啡的作用）；吃面包时要用手一片一片撕下来吃；菜肴一般是按人头平均分配到各自的盘子上，用餐时各吃各的，互不相干，但要注意与邻座的人说些风趣的话，尤其不可忽视女性客人；自己盘子上的东西要尽量吃完，对好吃的菜肴还要称赞一番，你越会欣赏主人的菜肴，他（她）就越高兴；吃完时刀叉平行放在盘子上（如尚未吃完则放成八字形），餐巾叠好放在盘子左边。
2. Thank you 的语调
Thank you 有两种语调。第一种，声音前高后低（降调）这种语调表示真心实意的感谢。第二种，声音前低后高，用这种语调时，句子失去了表示感谢的含义，而仅仅是一句普通的客套话。比如在公共汽车上，售票员收了你的钱后，他会用第二种语调说Thank you，当然他并非真心感谢你，而只是出于礼貌而已；如果一位外国朋友邀请你到他家做客，你也用第二种语调说Thank you，他一定会不高兴的。可见，说英语时一定要注意语调。
